PRINT TECHNIQUES

At the moment we have to take techniques for printing into mind, we need to find out the best way to print our products in bulk and find out the expenses and history of the techniques, so I put it in the form of a Infographic.

PRODUCT COMPLETION

I have created my products to somke audience specification buty also added my own ideas into the mix.
This is my Album / CD cover that looks profesional like a real CD / Album cover, it is done to exact dimensions and includes all the information you expect to see on a CD / Album cover.

This is my T-shirt design that is also printable onto a Hoodie, it has the ''REMAINS OF YOU'' skull logo from the CD / Album cover and has a guitar pick with the ''OLD TOWN RECORDS'' logo on the top layer.

This is my Poster / Flyer for old town records that promotes the intention of the company, a few signed local bands and the oppertunities that ''OLD TOWN RECORDS'' offer

This is my business cards, its aim is to captivate the audience via a Wild West style wanted poster that is eye catching and keeps you thinking, ''why that design?'', ''what does it mean, crimes agains music?''. It keeps people thinking and questioning the business card, which i think is a clever way of advertising because it is constantly in the audiences subconcious and they are thinking about it and keeping it in mind without realizing.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

The products i am making to advertize ''OLD TOWN RECORDS'' are coming together well, I have started to design a T-Shirt / Hoodie, Poster / Flyer, CD / Album and a set of Business cards, the development stage is key during a products life, its the point where you captivate you audience, attract more attention by leaking development photos and info and many other things. My products are all based on REAL record label's products that you expect to see.

PRESENTATION

I made a PowerPoint Presentation (PPP) that outlined my business plan and filled in any gaps, I presented it to my partner and a small audience to start with and handed out a series of feedback reports to the audience so I knew exactly how to change my PowerPoint, i could improve it and make it easier to understand by cutting down the paragraphs into bullet points, i added my company logo in the corners in order to make the slideshow consistent and I then presented it back to them and asked a series of questions about the chosen products; T-Shirt / Hoodie, CD / Album, Flyer / Poster and a set of  Buisness Cards.

I will my PowerPoint Presentation for my company to a focus group and get a series of answers to the following questions. My PowerPoint is consistent with design all way through and highlighted key features that I could elaborate on.

Could you please fill out this sheet at the end of the PPP for your comments and constructive criticism? The following questions will help me improve and amend my presentation and products to suit my audience’s requirements and expectations.

LOGO CHOICE

I decided to go with the logo that was pure text because I caught the eye, became a semiotic to people because the font was unique and suited the name 'Old Town Records' because the font is a old western stlye with my own personal touches that I added after the text was rasterized on Photoshop CS5.

NAME AND LOGO IDEAS

I didnt have to brainstorm for too long because i had name ideas in my head already because the ideas were already floting about in my head long before i started this project. I always wanted to run my own record label and try make a success in the music industry so it was a very good project for me to do. i had already looked into expenses and thougfht of a name all i needed was a logo and the correct skill to advertise and promote my company, which i have aquired through this course so far.

INITIAL PROPOSAL

General summary of what is involved

Producing and manipulating graphics for print products is a skilled job that not only requires creativity, but also practical skills and experience, which these units allow you to develop and obtain. By using Adobe Photoshop, you will exercise skills and demonstrate your understanding of design and layout by creating a series of advertising and packaging products for a company. This area is increasingly popular within the multimedia industry, therefore it is essential that you are aware of fundamental skills involved. Unit 4 is based around managing an entire project from start to finish, a basic brief is provided and we must do what is necessary in order to create a successful product using 3 different forms of media. ·         We have to be able to develop ideas and originate designs for print-based media products

·         We have to be able to produce print-based media products

·         We have to be able to reflect upon own print-based media production work

Overall

Unit 4 will help us plan out Unit 18 and give us an insight into real business situations. We will provide evidence for in our ongoing diary and show what we have done, how and why. We will take our concepts from the planning stage and put them in to development in order to achive the desired grade in both Units.
